Đinh Bộ Lĩnh (924–979)
(r. 968–979), originally named Đinh
Hoàn (丁桓[1] or 丁環), was the first Vietnamese emperor following the
liberation of the country from the rule of the Chinese Southern
Han Dynasty, as well as the
founder of the short-lived Đinh Dynasty and a
significant figure in the establishment of Vietnamese independence and
political unity in the 10th century.
Đinh Bộ Lĩnh is also known by his posthumous
name Đinh Tiên Hoàng (丁先皇).
Hoa Lư (華閭) was
the capital of Vietnam in the 10th
and 11th centuries. It lies in Truong Yen Thuong village, Truong Yen Commune, Hoa Lư District, Ninh Bình Province, Vietnam. The
area is one of ricefields broken by picturesque limestone mountains, and is
approximately 90 km south of Hanoi. Together
with Phát Diệm Cathedral, Tam Cốc-Bích Động, Bái Đính Temple, Trang An, and Cúc Phương, Hoa Lư is one of the most popular tourist
destinations in Ninh Bình Province.
In the late 10th century, Hoa Lư was the capital as well as the
economic, political and cultural center of Đại Cồ
Việt, an
independent Vietnamese polity founded in 968 A.D. by the local warlord Đinh Bộ Lĩnh (posthumously
known as Đinh
Tiên Hoàng, [Wikipedia]=======================
Nearly a thousand years later, Dinh
relatives have divided into many branches which have
different Middle Names; for example: Dinh trong .., Dinh van ., Dinh Huu..Dinh
xuan…and more . They expanded and lived through out many regions in north Viet
Nam and followed emigrations southward
Our ancestors emigrated
southward to Thua Thien Province during
Nguyen’s Dynasty
According the Wikipedia , Nam tiến (Vietnamese: Nam tiến, lit.
"advancing southward" or
"march to the south") refers to the southward expansion of the
territory ofVietnam from
the 11th century to the mid-18th century. The territory of Vietnam was
gradually expanded to the South from its original heartland in the Red
River Delta. In a span of some 700 years, Vietnam tripled its territory
in size and more-or-less acquired its elongated shape of today.
During the Nguyen Dynasty, [1802-forward] our
branch DINH TRONG… left NINH BINH and
emigrated to THUA THIEN Province located
in central Vietnam where was the last capital of Nguyen Dynasty
(1802-1945)
We called this group was the FIRST GENERATION who came and lived in Xuan Lai Village. Loc An Ward, Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Provine My father (Dinh trong Cuong) was born here ( see the image following; a small temple nearby my grandfather’s home)

SECOND EMIGRATION
The
Vietnam War especially the war in the “Mùa Hè Đỏ Lửa 1972”- a bloody war in the
summer of 1972 -happened in Quang Tri Province that pushed many country fellows
and us,to emigrate to south
Vietnam. Dinh’s families (fifth and
sixth generation) followed waves of refugees fled to the south of Vietnam and
lived in Cam Ranh and Binh Thuan... Until 1975, when North and South Vietnam
were unionized . Since then, most
relatives of Dinhs emigrated to live in Cam Ranh, Phan Thiet, BinhThuan , Dong Nai, Saigon…
for better lives. Most of us were fifth generation of DINH who had children who would be in sixth generation…
Nowadays,
a lot of Dinh’s relatives live in the southern of Vietnam because the
homeland in central Vietnam is poor. We now are standing in fifth, sixth, seventh and even eighth generation...
